Bangalore Police chief Raghavendra H Auradkar has instructed all banks in Bangalore to follow the guidelines on security or face action.

Bangalore: Bangalore Police Commissioner Raghavendra H Auradkar has issued an order instructing all banks in Bangalore to follow the guidelines on security to ATMs or face action. By using his special powers as the Additional District Magistrate of Bangalore, he has ordered all the banks to take following security measures before November 24.

The guidelines are:

1) 24-hour security guards to man all ATMs

2) CCTV surveillance of all ATM kiosks that capture images outside and inside the ATM kiosk

3) An alarm system should be installed in every ATM

If these are not complied with by November 24, those ATMs will be prohibited from functioning.

The directive comes after the brutal assault on a 44-year-old woman banker by a machete wielding man inside a Corporation Bank ATM on Tuesday morning.

What's your reaction?
