Agra: A Russian woman tourist sustained severe burns after unidentified masked youth on motorcycles threw acid on her, the police said on Thursday.
The incident occurred when Katrina (35), a Russian tourist, left her hotel room with her friend Masiba (25) for dinner on Wednesday night, they said.
Some youth on motorbikes allegedly opened fire with an intention to rob them at Phool Saiyyed crossing in Sadar area.
Though the bullets missed their target, Katrina sustained severe burns later when the miscreants threw acid on her.
They decamped with her cell-phone.
Katrina had been admitted to hospital, while a hunt to nab the accused is on.
