Bank Note Press Officer Arrested, Cash Worth Rs 90 Lakh Seized

Bhopal: A senior official of a Dewas-based Bank Note Press (BNP) was arrested on Friday on the charges of stealing bank notes.

Police carried out raids at the office and residence of BNP Senior Superintendent Manohar Verma and seized cash worth Rs 90 lakh from his possession.

According to police, the officer was hiding currency notes in his shoes and under garments.

BNP is a central government institution based in Dewas, around 160km from Bhopal, and is engaged in printing of currency notes of various denominations.
