Bank officer drugged, robbed

BHUBANESWAR: A bank officer who was drugged and robbed was found near Baramunda Bus Stand on Friday. When he was rescued, his laptop, gold ring and Rs 2,000 in cash had been looted.Simanchal Sahoo, the officer, was on his way from Sambalpur to Bhubaneswar. He had been offered a chocolate in the bus by a co-passenger. The chocolate, police said, was laced with some of strong sedative under the influence of which Sahoo was left virtually unconscious. The miscreant, an ageing person, made away with his valuables taking advantage of the situation.Sahoo was to attend a meeting in the City. He was given treatment at Capital Hospital here.
