New Delhi: Superstar Amitabh Bachchan's career has spanned over four decades and his health is a big concern for Bollywood as a lot is riding on him.
Bachchan began his acting career in 1969 with Saat Hindustani. He became well known as a movie star in 1973, with the films Abhimaan and Zanjeer. While his popularity waned in the 1980s, Bachchan made a comeback with the super-hit game show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
In 1982, Bachchan was injured while filming on the sets of Coolie. The popular interest in his injury was so high that when Coolie was released, it featured a freeze-frame and caption, isolating the exact instant during a fight scene when Amitabh was injured.
Big B is currently involved in several projects.
Ek Ajnabee, the movie in which Big B is working with Arjun Rampal will release next month.
In the film, Bachchan plays a bodyguard to an eight-year-old, who is the daughter of a rich NRI couple, played by hotelier Vikram Chatwal and Perizad Zorabian.
After a substantial gap Bachchan will be seen in an action role. It is believed that he has done many of the stunts himself in the film.
He is shooting for director Karan Johar's movie Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna which has an unorthodox theme and his character has sexual undertones.
Big B is also cast in director Ravi Chopra's film Babul.
Bacchan is scheduled to shoot for Kaun Banega Crorepati 2 on November 30 and also on December 1 and 2.
Bacchan has also been invited by the French Embassy to attend the screening of French Films at International Film Festival of India on December 2.
The Big B is involved in the remake of the mother of all Hindi movies, Sholay. Shooting for this Ram Gopal Varma production will start next year.
Bachchan is neck deep in work and stress could have been one of the reasons for his illness.
