CUTTACK: In a major embarrassment to the ruling BJD, a party functionary and Director of Cuttack Central Cooperative Bank Ashwini Das was nabbed by Vigilance while allegedly taking a bribe of ` 1.20 lakh in lieu of pre-empting an alleged house search of a Cesu official. Das, who is a party office-bearer in Jagatsinghpur district, had allegedly tried to fleece the money from the Executive Engineer of Cesu Prashant Patnaik by warning him of an alleged Vigilance raid over amassing disproportionate assets.
