SHIMOGA: Excise Minister M P Renukacharya asked CM D V Sadananda Gowda to keep his promise (not explained) given to former CM B S Yeddyurappa.Renukacharya told reporters here on Sunday, that Yeddyurappa does not require the post of party state president. “We lobbied for Sadananda Gowda. He was not the candidate of the high command, but on Yeddyurappa’s direction, we supported Gowda. Jagdish Shettar was the high command candidate instead. Gowda should not forget his promise ,” he said.“We have faith in the party high command. It is a wrong assumption that we are leaving the party or giving an ultimatum to solve our problems. It is a conspiracy against Yeddyurappa,” he said. Some news reports mentioned that Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani had discussed the Yeddyurappa issue with the Central leaders on making him the party state president. I spoke to Nirani, who said the reports were rubbish, he said.
