New Delhi: BJP's Jammu & Kashmir incharge Ram Madhav has demanded that Mehbooba Mufti take tough action against separatist forces, a day after the chief minister advocated a "Vajpayee-like" approach to problems in the Valley.
“The situation is tense in the Kashmir valley. The state must act tough against these separatist forces. The Union government is extending all support to the state. The state is taking all possible steps to normalise the situation. But more needs to be done,” Madhav told CNN-News18 on Tuesday.
Reacting to Mehbooba’s "Vajpayee-model" comment, the RSS leader said the policies of the Narendra Modi government were the same as that followed by the Vajpayee government.
"Our policies have not changed. There is only one policy. That Kashmir is an integral part of India, and this has been our stand, and all other aspects depend on the situation on the ground”.
Blaming Pakistan for the terror attacks in Kashmir, Madhav said the state government has the twin tasks of curbing violence and making the life of common man in the valley comfortable.
He said, “unfortunately political parties need to be in the same page on Kashmir, but they are not”
