HYDERABAD: PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana is likely to visit Delhi on February 21 to submit report to the party high command on the selection of party candidates for the seven Assembly seats for which byelections will be held on March 18. After considering the report, the AICC will announce the names of candidates.In the last few days chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Satyanarayana held meetings with respective District Congress Committee leaders, ministers, ticket-seekers, and finalised the selection. Kiran Reddy completed the review of all the constituencies which are going to polls. The chief minister also held a meeting with Nizamabad District Congress Committee leaders.Former speaker KR Suresh Reddy, minority leader Md Shabber Ali, DCC president G Gangadhar and several other leaders took part in the meeting.After hour-long discussion the meeting decided to select Shabber Ali for the Kamareddy seat.Deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, home minister Sabita Indra Reddy and irrigation minister P Sudarshan Reddy also attended the meeting.Speaking at a Congress workers' meeting at the chief minister's camp office, Kiran Kumar Reddy said the Congress high command would take a decision on Telangana at an appropriate time.The government was committed to completing the Pranahita- Chevella irrigation project which would provide a new lifeline to the region, he said and added that the Maharashtra government had given consent for the project. The PCC chief said that they would finalise the candidates after getting the nod from the high command. All leaders would work under the leadership of AICC president Sonia Gandhi, he said.
