CHENNAI: A CB-CID special team, probing the February 23 encounter at Velachery, in which five suspected bank robbers were gunned down by the police, visited the scene of crime on Tuesday. The team led by investigating officer Venkatraman, DSP, CB-CID, conducted a preliminary investigation at the spot. “We went to the house at 4 pm and conducted preliminary probe,” Venkatraman told Express. Asked whether the team questioned the local residents, he replied in the negative. “We will question the witnesses soon,” he said.
