BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Friday quashed the charge-sheet filed against JD(S) leader and MLA Zameer Ahmed who was accused in a robbery case in October 2010.Zameer, MLA from Chamrajpet constituency, Bangalore, along with 13 others, was charged with robbery. The Kengeri police filed the charge-sheet in February 2011 on the basis of a complaint lodged by a trader, Zia Ullah Khan, alleging that he was robbed of Rs 50 lakh cash.In an interesting twist to the case, the complainant later informed the HC that he had never filed a case naming Zameer Ahmed as one of the accused, and that the charge-sheet was politically motivated.Following this development, the trial court was directed to record 164 statement of Zia Ullah Khan in accordance with law.On Friday, the single-judge Bench of Justice B V Pinto quashed the charge-sheet against Zameer Ahmed.
