New Delhi: Victoria Beckham, one of the world’s most photographed women, stepped into stunning bridal finery from India’s leading designers to pose for the coverpage of Vogue-India’s Bridal issue.

In an exclusive interview to the magazine, the former Spice Girl spoke about her style and life with her icon husband David Beckham and their three sons.

The November issue of Vogue will be available on stands from October 24.

“I was delighted to be asked to work with Indian Vogue. I have long been an avid admirer of the Indian fashion and lifestyle culture and was excited at the opportunity to work with their foremost fashion team,” she told Vogue.

On the cover, Victoria wears a Swarovski embellished tulle bikini top, zari and antique threadwork embroidered lehenga, tulle dupatta; all JJ Valaya. She is photographed by Karen Collins and styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania.

“I feel like an Indian princess!” exclaims Beckham, slipping into a Tarun Tahiliani lehenga in the colour of first bashful love and studded with tiny diamantes–stunning.

“You know, as a designer, I love the detailing in these clothes. It’s so me… this is real craftsmanship,” she said, examining the tiniest of details. “I’ve never worn anything like it. The talent that goes into making these clothes is phenomenal.”

She picked out an Abu-Sandeep crimson lehenga replete with floral zari-work and was delighted that the long hair extensions lend an air of harem-exotique.

“Victoria Beckham truly loves her fashion and is noticeably identified with western wear. Being someone who is game for trying anything, it was such fun shooting Victoria in Indian Bridal wear. She absolutely loved everything about it – from the maang tikka and haath zeb to the gorgeous lehengas. And as we indulged in playing ‘dress-up’, her amazing shape added a regality and strength to the ensembles, effortlessly morphing her into the perfect Indian princess,” said Fashion Director, Vogue India, Anaita Shroff Adajania.

Added Bandana Tewari, Fashion Features Director, “I thought she was a hoot! Victoria had the energy of a teenager and this unexpectedly dry sense of humour that all Brits seem to develop in response to their soggy weather! She loved wearing the Indian designs and was overtly thrilled to be in Vogue India.”

Vogue’s Bridal issue also features The Wedding season Guide that tells you how to plan your perfect day.
