TIRUNELVELI: Three persons filed nominations to the by-election in Sankarankoil assembly constituency on the first day, on Wednesday. K Padmarajan of Mettur Dam, Salem district, and P N Sri Ramachandran from Saligraman, Chennai, submitted their papers to Returning Officer P Selvaraj at Tirunelveli collectorate. Padmarajan said that it was the 128th time he had filed nominations. He had already filed nominations to contest various polls, including for President, Vice President, Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, Assembly and local bodies. As Sankarankoil was a reserved constituency, he filed the nominations though he was neither SC nor ST. “I know my nomination will be rejected during scrutiny. My aim is to enter the Guinness book,” said Padmarajan. S Arumugam of Melapalayam, Tirunelveli, filed his nomination with the Principal Assistant Returning Officer Damodaran at Sankrankoil taluk office.
