Court summons Subramanian Swamy in defamation case filed by Tamil Nadu CM Jaya

Chennai: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy has been issued summons by a court in connection with the defamation case filed against him by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. Swamy has been asked to appear in court on October 10.

Jayalalithaa had filed a defamation case against Swamy as he had in his letter to the Prime Minister alleged that the boats apprehended by the Sri Lankan navy belong to Jayalalithaa's close aide Sasikala and the DMK leader TR Baalu.

Dr Swamy alleged Jayalalithaa appropriated his hard work on Mulla Periyar Dam as her achievement. He had also alleged that Jayalalithaa claimed she saved Ram Setu.
