CPM men manhandle P C Vishnunath MLA

ALAPPUZHA: Chengannur MLA P C Vishnunath was allegedly manhandled by a group of local people at Kuttamperoor, near here, on Sunday.According to the police, local people, including women, attacked the MLA upon his arrival at Kuttamperoor to inaugurate the Valiyakulangara-Anganvadi Road. They prevented him from opening the road, alleging that the work was incomplete. The MLA was later admitted to the Mavelikkara Government Hospital. Seventeen people, including CPM supporters, were arrested in connection with the attack, Mannar SI Subhash said.
