Delay in Civil Service exam worries aspirants

BHUBANESWAR: The inordinate delay in conducting the Orissa Civil Service (OCS) examination is taking a toll on the thousands of aspirants throughout the State.The last advertisement for the OCS examination was issued in August 2006. However, there has been no such advertisement after that. In an attempt to regularise the exam, the Government last year had announced that the exam will be conducted every year.The exam was scheduled to be conducted in February, 2011. But no related advertisement was put out. Prior to this, the exam was conducted at an interval of four to five years, the last being in the year 2006.The students of Utkal University have appealed to the Chief Secretary to take necessary action and initiate the process of conducting the exam.
