HYDERABAD: Close on the heels of a five kilogram gold theft in Abids, city police nabbed two persons carrying diamond jewellery worth Rs 1 crore in two bags without valid bills and proper security on Monday.Abids inspector K Shiva Kumar told Express that Jithender Prasad Shukla and Bisu Das were taken into custody when they were walking on the road with the two bags. "We found they were carrying 41 pieces of diamond jewellery without any receipt. They said they were transporting them from Siddivinayaka Jewellers in Basheerbagh to sell them to various jewellery stores in Abids," Shiva Kumar said.The jewellery was being transporting without any security."Despite proper guidelines and strict warnings being issued to all jewellery shop owners in the city, the careless attitude on part of the shop owners continue," officials said.City police said that the seized property will be delivered to Income Tax officials on Tuesday.
