The health officials swung into action and deputed garbage tractors and extra sprayers to contain the fear among the public. “We were there at the hospital where the boy breathed last and then accompanied the family to their place. But we were surprised when we heard about the rumours of two deaths here. The patient named Bibi Alam was admitted for dialysis, but the media reported the case a dengue causing panic among the public. Therefore, to control this miscommunication, we have sent circulars to all the hospitals in our area and told them not to react to media in haste and keep us in loop before airing any comments as it will have a negative bearing on the society,” said Deputy Health Officer, Mahadevapura Zone Vijaykumar.Meanwhile, the health officials have already planned an extensive campaign in Vijinapura and surrounding areas to educate the people about dengue and not  mistake any fever as dengue.“The health officials will ask the residents to clear the flower pots once in two days and garbage in the area,” Vijaykumar said.first published:January 01, 1970, 05:30 ISTlast updated:January 01, 1970, 05:30 IST
