Five meetings of the state Cabinet will be held outside Dehradun to provide much-needed impetus to development activities in districts, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat said in Dehradun on Wednesday.
"The step is being taken to speed up development projects in districts. We don't want development to be Dehradun-centric. It must reach every doorstep," he said.
Former Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank had held a meeting of his Cabinet at Har Ki Paudi in Haridwar.
Rawat's predecessor Vijay Bahuguna had also held a meeting of his Cabinet at Gairsain in Chamoli district.
