HYDERABAD: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence on Monday seized about 65 kg of ephedrine which is valued at Rs13 crore in the international market at the Secunderabad railway station.On a tip-off, the DRI intercepted two passengers travelling by the AP Sampark Kranti Express on Monday at Secunderabad railway station. The two passengers who boarded the train in New Delhi were found to be carrying five pieces of luggage. On examination, the baggage contained 65 kg of ephedrine in polythene bags. The DRI seized the ephedrine and arrested the duo who were sent to judicial custody. The seized ephedrine is a highly sought after chemical precursor in the illicit manufacture of methamphetamine.
