Kabul: A heavy explosion was heard near Kabul airport in Afghanistan early on Wednesday morning. There have been no reports of casualties yet. The nature of the explosion is not clear so far.
"Based on our information there was a explosion near KAIA," said deputy Kabul police chief Sayed Ghafar Sayedzada, referring to Kabul International Airport.
The airport is home to one of the NATO-led command's most important bases, the ISAF Joint Command, which is responsible for the day-to-day management of the US-led war in Afghanistan.
