CHENNAI: A 13 member film crew part of a team of 42 has been left stranded in South Korea as all others have gone missing. At the time of going to press there was no clarity on when the 29 artistes vanished.
The unit had gone to South Korea for shooting Laali on a group visa that expires on Wednesday. The crew has to fly back as a piecemeal return will be illegal. There was no official word on whether it was part of an immigration racket. The problem surfaced on Tuesday after the Film Employees Federation of South India filed a plaint with the Tamil Film Producers Council, stating that the two producers of the film Prakash and Chithirai Selvan responsible for the crew's were also missing. The film is being produced under the Rangeela Productions banner. They left for S Korea on June 19 along with 29 other artistes from New Delhi. While the main film crew completed shooting, the others vanished. "We are hopeful that something will be done by tomorrow as the film crew's visa expires then," said Babitha, mother of the film's heroine Laksha.
