NAMAKKAL: A case has been registered against a former MLA belonging to the DMK in a land grabbing case here on Wednesday. Charges have been slapped on his son and five others also.According to a senior police officer, former MLA of Rasipuram K P Ramasamy and his son R Muthuvel were booked under Sections 420, 468 and 506(i) of Indian Penal Code.  M Chandrasekar, his wife Sumathi, their sons Muralishankar, Santhosh and Lakshmanan and the then sub-registrar were the other accused, the officer said.The special cell formed to investigate land grab charges registered the case based on a complaint lodged by N Saraswathi, a resident of Maravarpalayam in Paramathi near here.In her complaint, Saraswathi alleged that his brother Chandrasekar and family prepared a fake will in the name of her late father Muthukarupillai and registered about 7 acres of land in the name of Muthuvel, the son of Ramasamy. A portion of the said land belonged to Saraswathi, Special Team Inspector Thiruneelakandan told Express.Later, Ramasamy and others allegedly threatened Saraswathi and family to leave the land to them or face dire consequences.Thiruneelakandan said a First Information Report was registered on Wednesday based on the prima facie evidences against the accused.  Ramasamy, one of the directors of a private engineering college, represented the Rasipuram segment during 2006-11 period.
