HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited is organising exclusive exhibition-cum-sale of Ganesha idols in myriad hues and made with different materials like bronze idols from Tamil Nadu, sand stone Ganesha carving from Orissa, wooden and clay Ganesha from Andhra Pradesh etc.An exhibition which will be held at Lepakshi Export Oriented Showroom, Musheerabad, will bring in some exclusive master pieces of Ganesha idols. Priced between `400 and `3 lakh, the bronze collection happens to be from Tamil Nadu’s ancient art forms. Also in bronze are figurines of Lakshmi, Saraswathi and Krishna in the size of eight inches to three feet. The collection has Ganesha in different forms from dancing, sitting to standing.The expo starts from August 18 and will be open till August 30 can also be visited for a wide and varied representations and in particular to appreciate and understand the material used. Sponsored by Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, it is open from 10 am to 8 pm.And Ganesha apart, the event has a wide spread of handloom collection including Kalamkari items, and Kashmir silk sarees.
