Hyderabad: The investigating agencies have searched six places in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra after the serial bomb blasts in Hyderabad. The searches were carried out after the investigators got some information about the people who may have been involved in carrying out the February 21 terror strikes in the Andhra Pradesh capital.
The six places where the raids are being carried out include Moghalpura, Uppal, Afzal Gunj in Andhra Pradesh. Sources say the raids are being carried out following specific information about the people behind the blasts.
Meanwhile, National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Nation Security Guards (NSG) teams are busy collecting forensic evidence from the blast site as well as the cycles used for planting the bombs. Sources say four Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists had entered India before the serial bomb blasts in Hyderabad.
Two powerful near simultaneous blasts had ripped through a crowded area close to a cluster of bus stands in Dilsukhnagar area on Thursday. The blasts triggered by Improvised Explosive Devices IED) tied to two bicycles took place at two sites 100 metres apart outside a roadside eatery near Konark and Venkatadiri theatres in the area located on the Hyderabad-Vijaywada national highway in Cyberabad police limits.
The Dilsukh Nagar area is thickly populated and traffic jams are routine in the evenings with officegoers and students rushing home. Large numbers of people wait at the numerous bus shelters, eateries and shops in the area.
