In Andhra Pradesh's Kakinada, Two Friends Earn Rs 4 Lakh Selling Jackfruit
Not only the jackfruit, but the two Andhra friends have also diversified their business operations to sell coconut and tamarind as well.

An example of communal harmony from the Kakinada district, Andhra Pradesh has dominated the headlines. According to Local18 Kannada, two friends named K Fayaz and Rajasekhar have been managing the jackfruit tree business for 15 years. Both initially used to work as the carriers of the jackfruit business. However, now they have transitioned to selling these fruits. Not only the jackfruit, they have diversified their business operations to selling coconut and tamarind as well.

Fayaz and Rajasekhar now own 20-30 jackfruit plantations on lease and earn a profitable sum by selling fruits. The consumption season for this fruit begins in April and continues till June end which provides them a good opportunity for earning a substantial income. Both Kakinada natives own and manage this business on an equal partnership basis.

They sell their produce to traders and snack food companies. Initially starting as business partners, they have now become best of friends and their friendship has survived the test of time. By the time the jackfruit season ends, they would have reportedly earned Rs 3-4 lakh.

In the Local18 Kannada video, both Fayaz and Rajasekhar can be seen explaining their business dealings and other aspects related to the jackfruit business. They can also be seen showing the well-ripened jackfruit for the audience. They are seen smiling satisfactorily after watching the produce of their plantations turn out to be ripe. Besides jackfruit, another pink-coloured food product can be seen hanging on the tree branches. The name of this product is not clear and Fayaz and Rajasekhar also didn’t explain much about it.

Selling jackfruit can turn out to be one of the well-earning business endeavours. It is in high demand, both in the domestic and the international markets. In a similar incident, a gardener from Palakkad, Kerala named Rajagopalan earned a profit of Rs 4 lakh. He managed to earn this profit from the sales of 400 Vietnam Early Jackfruit trees planted on 4 acres. In an interview with the Greens of Kerala, Rajagopalan said, “I did not expect jackfruit farming to be so successful.”
