Hissar: Tension remains in Hissar over the demand of the Jat community for reservation of jobs in Other Backward Class quota. The Jat community has called for a Haryana bandh on Saturday following the killing of one youth during the clashes between the police and the agitators.
According to reports, the body of the youth remains laid on railway track, thereby, blocking the rail route to Delhi.
The Jat protestors have even blocked the roads leading into Hissar. The bandh has affected Hissar, Fatehabad and Jind.
Meanwhile, the body of the youth killed in clashes between the police and the agitators still remains unclaimed.
This came a day after 17 opposition MLAs were suspended as the Jat stir issue rocked the Haryana Assembly, which also saw INLD Secretary General Ajay Singh Chautala finding himself at the centre of the pandemonium.
High drama took place in the House with ruling Congress charging opposition INLD of politicising the issue and flaring up the Jat agitation.
During the Zero Hour, a verbal duel broke out between the opposition and ruling benches, with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala launching a scathing attack on the INLD for trying to divide the state and flaring up the agitation.
This prompted opposition members including INLD's Ajay Chautala Ashok Arora, Rampal Majra, BJP's Krishan Pal Gujjar, Kavita Jain and Anil Vij to lodge a strong protest.
