The Madras High Court has directed the police not to arrest Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran, on a complaint filed by film director and producer Sakthi Chidambaram.
In his complaint, Sakthi Chidambaram stated that he had entered into an agreement with Sun TV Network for telecasting Vijay starrer 'Kaavalan', for Rs 5.5 crore.
"However, the film was telecast on Sun TV before I was paid the entire amount," alleged Sakthi Chidambaram. Based on his complaint, a case was registered against Maran and his associates under different sections of the IPC.
When a petition filed by Maran and others came for hearing before Justice Arumughaswamy on Wednesday, he directed Central Crime Branch not to arrest Kalanithi Maran and others.
The further hearing of the case is scheduled for December 18.
