New Delhi: The man accused of threatening Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut with an acid attack has been remanded in police custody till March 6.
The Ganster girl was allegedly facing threat to her own life from the rejected suitor of her sister Rangoli who was burnt with acid in October last year.
The Uttarakhand police brought the accused Avinash Sharma to Mumbai on Saturday.
On January 29, Kangana registered a complaint with the Versova police in Mumbai saying Sharma had been "ringing her up" on her mobile phone and "threatening to throw acid on her face if he failed to marry Rangoli".
It is believed that Sharma had allegedly instigated his friend Prem Singh to throw acid on Rangoli at her rented house in Dehradun.
Uttarakhand Police arrested Sharma and Singh for throwing acid on Rangoli's face on October 5 and a court in Dehradun granted bail to Sharma on November 13.
After Mumbai police registered the case following the actress' complaint, Sharma's bail was cancelled and the Uttarakhand police arrested him last month again and brought to Mumbai.
Kangana's friend and Bollywood actor Aditya Panscholi was present when Uttarakhand police presented Sharma before the court.
