BANGALORE: The BJP central leadership is cautious on taking decisions about former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, despite the High Court’s clean chit to him in the Lokayukta report on illegal mining. BJP sources told Express that party’s national general secretary Dharmendra Pradhan — who is in charge of Karnataka affairs — held discussions with Yeddyurappa at the latter’s residence, besides having a detailed talk with national secretary Satheesh and state general secretary Santosh on the demand by Yeddyurappa’s supporters to reinstate him.“We don’t want him (Yeddyurappa) to get into trouble after taking over as Chief Minister as there is one more case connected with the Supreme Court-monitored Central Empowered Committee report. The party’s legal brains will study the import of the report — likely to be submitted shortly — and then give their opinion on whether our leader can safely take over the reins again,” a top leader told Express.Sources clarified that some cases filed by private individuals are not in the realm of party’s thinking as they are not being investigated by any constitutional body like the Lokayukta or the judicial commission.
