MYSORE: External Affairs Minister S M Krishna who was in the city on Sunday, ruled out his return to state politics.Speaking to media persons at the Lalitha Mahal helipad, he said that there were many efficient leaders and enough support for the Congress party in the state. However, he said, “I will continue with the present responsibility given by the party and there is no question of returning to state politics.”He said the state’s current political situation was an indication that the BJP-led state government may collapse at any moment. Nepotism, corruption and mismanagement had reached its peak in BJP. This, he said, would benefit Congress in the next general elections.Referring to the incident of two former chief ministers B S Yeddyurappa and H D Kumaraswamy being summoned by the Lokayukta Special Court over corruption charges, he said that these incidents would be a warning for elected representatives who do not abide by the law.Mayor Pushpalatha Chikkanna and other authorities received S M Krishna, who was accompanied by Congress leader D K Shivakumar. S M Krishna had visited the city to attend the wedding of MLA V Srinivasa Prasad’s daughter, held at the Dasara Exhibition Ground on Sunday.Before attending the marriage, Krishna offered pooja to Goddess Chamundeshwari atop Chamundi Hill.
