Labour Department gets notice

BNAGALORE: Karnataka High Court on Monday issued notices to Labour Department and ESIC director regarding a petition filed by Karnataka State Minorities Educational Institutions Managements Federation.
The petitioners have challenged Labour Department's notification to extend ESI scheme to educational institutions that are public, private, aided or partially aided. The petitioners have contended that the notification is in violation of the amended ESI Act.
