Two persons were killed and seven others injured after being struck by lightning at different villages in the district last evening. The first incident occured at Suvahedi village when a person identified as Beeram Sondhiya(40) was struck by sudden rains coupled with lightning killing him on the spot, police said on Monday.

In Prempura village, lightning struck a woman identified as Sampatbai Tanwar following which she died. In a separate incident, seven persons in Shobhapur village in the district were struck by lightning following which they suffered serious injuries, police said adding they were admitted to the district hospital.
