Mar Thoma Church to go in appeal

PATHANAMTHITTA: The Mar Thoma Church will go in appeal against the interim order of the Tiruvalla Munsiff Court against installation of Rev K V Varkey as episcopa of the Church. Tiruvalla Munsiff K Manoj granted interim stay on a petition filed by John Samuel, a parishoner of Thiruvananthapuram Pattur St Thomas Church, against the installation of Rev K V Varkey as episcopa on the ground that seeking the mandatory 75 per cent votes on the second day was unconstitutional under the Church law. However, the Church sources said that election of the episcopas was held purely on the basis of the Rules.
