HYDERABAD: Mild tension prevailed in the sensitive Lal Darwaza locality here after a portion of ‘ghilaf,’ a cloth in a place of worship, was found burnt on Saturday. The incident kept the police on tenterhooks what with the Milad-un-Nabi to be celebrated on February 5.According to police, locals found a portion of the ghilaf, a cloth used to cover the grave, was found burnt in the Syed Sadath Hussaini dargah in Lal Darwaza on Saturday morning and as word spread about the incident, tension prevailed in the sensitive locality.Additional forces were rushed to the locality as a preventive measure and police swung into action. Soon, armed policemen were deployed all across the old city to prevent any trouble arising out of the situation. Hyderabad police commissioner AK Khan was also camping in old city.After preliminary investigation, police ruled out sabotage and managed to convince the locals that the incident might be an accident. “The cloth might have caught fire after the ‘chirag’ (lamp) fell on it,’’ police officials said.
