Bhopal: A girl student of a private fashion technology institute belonging to a well known political family of Chhattarpur district was suspected to have been shot dead near Misrod town about 20 km away from Bhopal under mysterious circumstances.

The 20-year-old girl identified as Vasundhara Bundela is the relative of former MLA Ashok Vir Vikram Singh popularly known as 'Bhaiya Raja'.

Her body was found on Friday under mysterious circumstances in an agriculture field, police said on Saturday.

Though her post-mortem report is yet to be received, it was suspected that she was shot in her head by an unidentified person.

She was staying in a private girls hostel situated in Maharana Pratap Nagar area from where she had gone out for some work on December 10 with a message that, later, she would be going to her relative's place.

Since then she was missing and on Friday her body was found in an agriculture field.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Bhopal Range, Ashok Awasthi told PTI that police is waiting for the arrival of her family members for further probe into the incident.
