BALASORE: The atmosphere was filled with the chants of Eid Mubarak as people in Balasore town celebrated Eid on Wednesday, marking the end of the month of fasting during Ramzan. As per tradition, members from the community offered prayers in mosques and gave alms to the poor. After the feast in the noon, many spent the day visiting relatives and attending prayers in mosques in the evening.As the coastal town presents a picture of brotherhood among both Hindu and Muslim communities, Hindus were also seen exchanging Eid Mubarak greetings. People offered prayers in 19 mosques in the town though the mass ‘Namaaz’ was cancelled at Dargha maidan due to rain. Secretary of Sunahat Bade Masjid committee Sk Mansul said Eid highlights the spirit of sacrifice and the joy of sharing.
