Kolkata: Shreyoshi Chowdhary, the teenaged daughter of Congress MP Adhir Chowdhary, who had been seriously injured after she allegedly jumped from the roof of their south Kolkata apartment on Wednesday in an apparent suicide attempt, died in a private nursing home in Kolkata on Monday.
Shreyashi was in a critical condition since Wednesday. She had been admitted to the AMRI Hospital near their Golpark Apartment with multiple injuries.
The girl, a Class 11 student, had jumped from the fifth floor roof of the building when the MP and his wife were not at home.
Police suspect it to be a suicide attempt. The Congress MP represents the Behrampore constituency of Murshidabad district.
The controversial Congress MP was arrested from his official residence in New Delhi on November 19 last year in connection with the murder of Hanif Sheikh and his son Laltu, who used to run a hotel business in Behrampore.
The MP had, however, said that he was framed in the double murder by his political rivals.
