Muneer offers to mediate

KOCHI: Panchayats  and Social Welfare  Minister M K Muneer said here on Sunday that his  party would intervene  to sort out the differences of opinion between  Kerala Congress (B) chairman R Balakrishna  Pillai and Forest Minister  K B Ganesh Kumar. The minister said that the issue would not  affect the unity of the  United Democratic Front.  The rift between Balakrishna Pillai and Ganesh Kumar has intensified after the party expelled the latter from his position as vice-chairman.  Though a minor partner in the UDF with a single MLA, the rift between the two leaders could become a real problem for the UDF, which is just surviving on a wafer-thin majority.
