New York: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has indirectly accused President Pervez Musharraf of having incumbent Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in "his pocket.”

According to The Nation, Sharif was quoted as telling Pakistan Muslim League activists in Brooklyn in New York, over phone that Pakistan was presently being ruled by "one person.”

He was obviously referring to Musharraf.

"The present regime is only serving foreign masters. The only way matters would improve is through the removal of the military rule once and for all,” Sharif was quoted, as saying.

"Parliament was nothing more than a rubber-stamping body. And now that person (Musharraf) was attempting to get himself re-elected by misusing his authority. The people must resist it," he added.

What's your reaction?
