Bokaro: Naxals on Thursday blew up a stretch of railway track in Bokaro district, disrupting train services. A report from Giridih in Jharkhand said the Maoists exploded ten bombs at separate places in Giridih Lok Sabha constituency where polling is on.

"Seven bombs were exploded serially near Bistuur under Pirtand police station around 8.30 AM. All the security and polling personnel are safe," Superintendent of Police Kranti Kumar told reporters.

One blast took place near the Harladih camp which is approximately 300 metres east at 0110 hrs. The second blast took place nearly 250 metres west of the Harladih camp at 2 am. In Gamhariya, a blast took place at 10:30 pm on Wednesday.

Despite the blasts, voting in the area remains peaceful.

Some parts of Bokaro district fall under Giridih Lok Sabha seat while other areas come under Dhanbad seat where voting is on April 24.
