Never opposed ruling party

TIRUCHY: While the CPM is working closely with actor Vijaykanth’s DMDK, the CPI is refraining from harshly criticising the AIADMK. When the CPM supported the DMDK in the Sankarankoil bypoll, the CPI refused take a similar stand and boycotted the bypoll. The CPI has also not joined other opposition parties during the walkouts from the Assembly during the ongoing session. The party has also supported the AIADMK government’s stand on issues like commissioning Koodankulam nuclear plant, Mullaiperiyar dam row and the Sri Lankan Tamils’ plight.
