New Delhi: Even as investigations into the gruesome Nithari serial killings continue, three witness recorded their statements in a court in New Delhi on Monday.
In her statement under 164 Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), the 12-year-old key witness in the case, Poornima, described how the accused Surinder Koli had invited her for lunch on the occassion of Ram Navami in April 2005.
Poornima added that she was lucky to have escaped the "killer house" of D-5, Noida belonging to accused Moninder Singh Pandher. Two other witnesses — Pratima and Reena Sarkar — also testified in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Ajay Goel on Monday.
The statements were recorded in a Delhi court as CBI wanted to avoid the media glare and ensure smooth proceedings.
Meanwhile, son of accused Pandher, Karandeep Singh Pandher, on Monday moved a petition before the Supreme Court seeking shifting of trial in the case from Ghaziabad court to Delhi.
