Obama's pick: Indian Chief Technology Officer for US

New Delhi: US President elect Barak Obama has narrowed his choice for the newly created position of Chief Technology Officer to two Indians who have emerged as front runners.

Indian born American nationals Padmasree Warrior and Vivek Kundra are being considered for the post.

The US chief Technological officer will ensure that the government and its agencies have the right infrastructure, policies and services.

Padamasree, an IIT Delhi alumnus is presently the Chief Technology Officer of the Cisco Systems.

And Vivek Kundra is serving as the Chief Technology officer of the government of Washington DC.

There are already eight Indians in Obama's Transition Team.
