Pawan Kalyan decided to visit the temple after claims of animal fat present in Tirupati laddoos surfaced online. On Monday, September 30, the Supreme Court addressed the issue and criticised Andhra Pradesh CM, N Chandrababu Naidu for making public allegations. The bench, comprising Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan, was addressing petitions seeking court-monitored investigation when they criticised the CM.
“You get the report in July. September 18, you go public. You say you ordered an investigation. It is very clear from the report that this is not the ghee which had been used. Unless you are sure, how did you go to the public with that?” asked Justice K V Viswanathan.
“When somebody gives a report like you, does not prudence dictate that you take a second opinion? First of all, there is no proof that this ghee was used. And there is no second opinion,” Justice Viswanathan added. Justice Gavai said, “When you have ordered the investigation, what was the need for going public? This is a matter of the sentiments of the lakhs of devotees”.
Reacting to the statement, Pawan Kalyan told the press on Tuesday, “I think they said in such a way, they never said it was not adulterated. Whatever information they have on their hands, I think they commented on that. Supreme Court judges didn’t say that it was unadulterated, they said there was confusion regarding the date which will be cleared…But our government will take it forward – what kind of violations happened in last 5 years? It is not just about prasad issue.”
