Bengaluru: The Congress in Karnataka has hit out at Union Minister VK Singh for suggesting that the "mental health" of ex-serviceman Subedar Ram Kishan Grewal, who committed suicide over the delay in implementation of one-rank-one-pension scheme, should be investigated.
“Mr. Singh needs to undergo a mental health check up before he doubts someone else. He has become a habitual offender. He can come to NIMHANS in Bengaluru to get himself checked from a psychiatrist,” Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) working president Dinesh Gundu Rao said. Dinesh Gundu Rao was speaking at a protest march condemning the Delhi police action against party vice- president Rahul Gandhi.
The Central government-funded NIMHANS is India’s premier mental health hospital and university. The Karnataka BJP has condemned this remark.
Hundreds of activists of Karnataka Congress came out to condemn the Delhi police action against Rahul.
“Rahul Gandhi was there at the hospital to meet the family, as a political leader he has the right to meet the family members who are in grief. The Delhi Police acted upon the orders of the centre,” said the KPCC working president.
