New Delhi: Playing the purple royalty must be coming easy to her because if her last Elizabeth I act notched her an Emmy, actor Helen Mirren's portrayal of Elizabeth II in The Queen is making all the right noise.
Oscar talk has already begun for Helen for mastering the larger-than-life persona of the Queen.
"The research was very important. It was extremely important and one needed to do a lot of it and I am rather a lazy actress. I love doing research because I had to do it like a detective to try and find what was behind the official picture all the time. More than that the next big step is the imaginative step, of being imaginative and being the character," Mirren said.
The Queen portrays the British monarch finally shedding a tear days after the death of Princess Diana, sitting alone by a river after her car breaks down in the wilds of Scotland.
The film also depicts Prime Minister Tony Blair's wife as telling her husband in private that the British royals were "a bunch of freeloading, emotionally retarded nutters."
