Package of films made by women mediapersons

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The fourth International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala - IDSFFK 2011 - will be held in the city from the July 31 to August 4. An added attraction this year will be a package of films made by women mediapersons which are being screened in association with International Association of Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT), an association of women professionals working in radio and television.The package comprises of women artists hailing from Afghanistan, Thailand, Iran, Jordan, Philippines and other countries. Jaichandiram, the first Asian president of IAWRT and former deputy director general of Doordarshan, will introduce the package to the audience at the Festival. There will be two separate sections to commemorate the contributions of Mani Kaul and Raveendran, who passed away recently. Nauraus Contractor, Kaul’s cinematographer in the early years, will share his memories about the master filmmaker, while Sasikumar will remember his friend Raveendran. Kaul’s renowned documentary ‘Drupad’ and excerpts from Raveendran’s ‘Ente Keralam’ will be screened. Delegate registration will close on Friday. For online registration, visit www.iffk.in.
