Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Naeem Akhtar's house was attack with a petrol bomb in Parraypora area on Monday night, police said on Tuesday.
The motive behind the incident is yet to be known and no one was injured in the attack that was carried out by unidentified persons.
A senior police officer said, "A petrol bomb was hurled at the residence of the Education Minister at Parraypora late last night, causing damage to the main gate of the house."
At the time of attack, the minister and his wife were not present in the house as they have shifted to high security Gupkar Road after the PDP-BJP government was sworn in March last year.
