On May 14, 1657, Sambhaji Maharaj was born to Chhatrapati Sivaji Maharaj and his first wife Saibai. Sambhaji took over the reign of the Kingdom of Maratha after the demise of Sivaji.
Sambhaji ruled the kingdom for nine years.
